Full Job Description

Compensation Range $45.00 - $50.00 / Hour Position Overview: Eligible for a hybrid work schedule split between home and office, with a minimum of three days in the office each week. This is a temporary assignment with the potential to convert into a full-time position based on performance and business needs. At The Cheesecake Factory, We Don't Do Ordinary! Nothing is scaled down. Not the pride, not the fun, and definitely not the teamwork. Here, you'll do meaningful work alongside great people who care about each other and are passionate about supporting the restaurant teams that create memorable experiences for our guests every day. That's the kind of culture that has earned us a place on Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For® list every year since 2014. The Temporary Logistics Analyst will contribute to a strategic initiative focused on evaluating and optimizing our inbound freight operations. Your primary objective will be to determine whether bringing the management of select inbound freight lanes in-house can generate meaningful cost savings and improve visibility across our supply chain. Reporting to the Director of Supply Planning, you will analyze freight lanes and rate structures, develop cost models, evaluate logistics systems, and work with internal and external partners to build recommendations from the ground up. You’ll Thrive in This Role If You’re: Analytically minded: You enjoy digging into complex freight data, identifying patterns, and translating your findings into clear business recommendations. A resourceful problem-solver: You are comfortable working through ambiguity, building structure from scratch, and finding practical solutions when the path forward is not immediately clear. Self-driven: You take ownership of your work, manage competing priorities effectively, and keep projects moving without requiring constant direction. A collaborative communicator: You build productive relationships across departments and can clearly communicate technical findings to suppliers, carriers, business partners, and senior leaders. Here’s more of what you’ll get to do: Analyze inbound freight lanes across LTL, truckload, intermodal, and small-parcel transportation to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities. Evaluate supplier-managed freight practices and determine the feasibility of transitioning select lanes to internally managed freight. Develop cost models comparing supplier-prepaid, collect, and alternative freight arrangements. Build lane-level visibility into freight costs, accessorial charges, fuel surcharges, rate structures, and seasonal variability. Assess Transportation Management Systems and freight-visibility platforms that may support future logistics operations. Partner with Supply Planning, Procurement, Distribution, Finance, suppliers, carriers, distributors, and third-party logistics providers to gather data and validate findings. Create reporting tools to measure lane performance, carrier performance, freight costs, and cost-to-serve. Identify freight companies and logistics partners that could support future transportation opportunities. Support pilot programs designed to test the value of managing inbound freight internally. Validate potential savings through freight audits, historical invoice reviews, rate comparisons, and industry benchmarking. Present findings, recommendations, and potential business impacts clearly to leadership. What we require: 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation planning, supply-chain analytics, supply planning, or a related field. Strong understanding of freight lanes, transportation modes, carrier terms, rate structures, and freight costs. Experience using Transportation Management Systems or freight-visibility platforms. Advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial or operational modeling. Experience obtaining freight quotes, comparing carrier rates, or working with carriers and third-party logistics providers. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and create structure within a developing or ambiguous environment. What We Prefer: Experience transitioning suppliers from prepaid freight to collect or internally managed freight. Experience within foodservice, retail, consumer goods, distribution, or another transportation-intensive environment. Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite. Experience with freight-audit and payment processes. Familiarity with logistics or freight-visibility platforms such as Project44, FourKites, or MercuryGate. Understanding of cost-to-serve modeling, including transportation, handling, accessorial, warehousing, and other landed-cost components. What we offer: Sick Time (In locations where required) Medical Plan Available (Must meet service and hours requirement) 25%-35% discount when dining as a guest About the Company: Named to FORTUNE Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For®” list every year since 2014, The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated is a leader in experiential dining.
