Full Job Description
The Supply Chain Analyst will develop, execute, monitor, and report on data-driven solutions and process improvement projects within the distribution network of Wismettac Asian Foods. With a strong emphasis on data analytics, the Analyst will provide actionable insights to optimize inventory, transportation, and operational processes. Reporting directly to the Manager, this role focuses on leveraging advanced data analysis and visualization tools to drive operational excellence, efficiency, and scalability. The Analyst will map and analyze business processes and workflows, identifying opportunities for standardization, automation, and optimization. They will collaborate across teams to ensure seamless implementation of process improvements while meeting the unique challenges of the food and beverage industry, including product perishability, compliance, and customer expectations. Essential Job Functions Data Analytics & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets related to inventory, transportation, and distribution efficiency. Develop dashboards and reports using tools like Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel to support data-driven decision-making. Identify trends and areas for improvement, focusing on KPIs such as order accuracy, lead times, and inventory turnover. Operational Improvement: Analyze work and information flows specific to food and beverage distribution to identify opportunities for process improvement. Map processes for inventory and distribution, including temperature-sensitive and shelf-life management. Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., FDA, HACCP) in process improvement initiatives. Project Management: Assist in planning and executing supply chain improvement projects from inception to completion. Develop business requirements and testing criteria for supply chain systems, including ERP, TMS, LMS, and WMS technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that improve operational performance. Technology & Systems Optimization: Work with ERP, TMS, LMS, and WMS platforms (e.g., Oracle ERP) to support seamless integration and operation of supply chain functions. Develop and test user requirements for software functionalities tailored to food and beverage logistics. Stakeholder Communication: Present progress reports, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders, highlighting the impact of analytics and improvements. Act as the primary point of contact for data-driven supply chain insights and technology solutions. Experience/ Training/ Education Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields. 4 years of experience with Supply Chain, IT, Engineering, or similar Experience in Supply chain analytics, data reporting, or operational analysis within a distribution environment (preferably food and beverage). Business Process Improvement, Continuous Improvement, Business Process Engineering *experience may include a combination of work experience and education APICS CPIM, CSCP, and PMP certifications are preferred. Additional certifications in data analytics or visualization tools are a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain and ERP software such as Oracle ERP, TMS, LMS, WMS, and other Supply Chain solutions, especially in food and beverage distribution. Strong business acumen, coupled with the ability to communicate findings to both business and IT leaders in a way that can influence how an organization approaches a business challenge. Advanced proficiency in data management tools and software Knowledge of Visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI) Ability to analyze complex supply chain challenges and recommend data-backed solutions. Demonstrated ability to multitask, work under pressure, think analytically, and communicate effectively. Planning/Organizing - Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle shifting priorities in fast-paced environments. Detail-oriented and accurate - Minimizes mistakes, follows every step in a process, and follows through with all tasks. Strong ability to manage large datasets and ensure data accuracy. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large sets of data Written and Verbal Communication - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate technical data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders at all levels. Time & Project Management - Comfortable working within tight and changing deadlines; able to work independently. Oriented towards a deadline completion mindset – puts in the required extra effort to prevent delays Knowledge of food safety and compliance standards (e.g., FDA, HACCP) is preferred. Working Conditions: The Supply Chain Analyst works in a comfortable office environment. They frequently work more than the standard 40 hours a week to ensure deadlines are met. Travel is sometimes necessary. The Supply Chain Analyst may even travel within the US and Canada. Due to global supply chain-related support, the Supply Chain Analyst may be required to be on-call on an irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays.
