Full Job Description

Overview CVP is seeking a detail-oriented Portfolio Budget Support Analyst to support budgeting, procurement, and financial reporting within a government setting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and experience collaborating with mid-level and senior management. This role requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment and a keen ability to manage financial operations efficiently. Responsibilities Support the planning of the business year (BY) and BY+1 budget, including writing budget justifications and assisting with OMB pass-back activities Support the closeout activities of the prior year (PY) budget Assist with the annual kick-off budget planning process, including drafting briefs, revising project/service request forms, and updating resource planning documentation Support procurement and acquisition management with the COR and Office of the Director Monitor the status of acquisition approval requests (AAR) and maintain knowledge of Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) for planning, budgeting, procurement, and IT management Track indirect and other direct costs as required Provide support with budget monitoring and execution, including advanced Excel functions (pivot tables) Support the management of a working capital fund, including drafting documents and reporting requirements Assist with weekly and monthly reporting requirements Support data calls (OMB, OCIO, etc.) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent relevant experience 3+ years of financial and accounting/bookkeeping experience Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables Comfortable presenting before mid-level and senior management Ability to adapt to a dynamic government environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience with USDA or other federal civilian agencies (Non-DoD) AgMax background a plus Experience with ServiceNow (project and financial tools) a plus This role is pending program award, anticipated April 2026 About CVP CVP is an award-winning healthcare and next-gen technology and consulting services firm solving critical problems for healthcare, national security, and public sector clients.
