This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Technical Director, Project Manager. This position may be required to sit in the Denver office 2-3 days a week. Be involved in projects with the local Denver WSP team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. This role has been created to support recent project wins and on-going pursuits in the Denver market. Provides leadership, definition, and oversight pertaining to the consistent delivery of large scale/highly complex project management work within a sector, ensuring the application of capabilities and expertise, and that QA/QC practices are in alignment with Corporate business strategy, operational performance, and risk management objectives. Serves as a Project Management subject matter expert and champion for ensuring corporate compliance with all internal project management standards and successfully addressing current and future project management challenges within a large-scale and multi-faceted business organization. Your Impact Serve in a Program Manager role on major projects delivered via various delivery methods Serve as Owner’s Representative, Delivery Partner, and or Independent PMO Develop Project Management Plans to include Program Controls, Document Control, Design Management, Risk Management, Safety Management, Quality Control, Stakeholder Engagement, and Environmental Compliance Responsible for independent review of project progress Perform schedule review and analysis Provide solutions to project issues Review and strategize improvement to key operational performance metrics Develop and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients, agencies, partner firms and sub-consultants, as well as other external stakeholders such as vendors and suppliers. Accountable for overall management and successful execution of major projects, monitoring internal and external events, expenses, performance, and profitability. Oversee the discipline’s vision and mission to promote an appropriate value proposition that accounts for corporate and WSP client business strategy, governmental regulations and policies, and QA/QC in delivery. Create a learning culture that values innovative subject matter expertise and fosters effective and continual personal development. Develop and implement a communication strategy to increase the effectiveness of discipline-related processes, systems, and practices, and mitigating discipline-related risks. Serve as program management discipline subject matter expert to a variety of internal / external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities. Develop extensive high-level business contacts and client base for providing high program management services including identifying additional business development opportunities, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities. Collaborate with professionals and senior leadership from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm. 12+ years of relevant post-education experience Experience in alternative delivery methods, such as progress/phased design build and or CMAR Experience interfacing with multiple jurisdictions on major projects of similar size and complexity. Strong oral and written communication skills. Advanced proficiency with critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make assessments and calculations involving the application of project management principles, with a sound understanding of intent, impact, and optimal outcomes. Excellent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adjusting readily to the changing prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC. Excellent computer skill - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, subcontractors, consultants, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exits. Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet project-specific needs. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. Compensation: Expected Salary (Colorado only): $191,000 - $234,000 WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
