About the Role The Wafer Test Equipment Engineer (Tester & Prober) is responsible for maintaining and optimizing wafer test equipment, including ATE testers and probers, to ensure stable, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role focuses on equipment maintenance, performance monitoring, process optimization, and continuous improvement, while ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. What You Will Do Maintenance & Repair Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for ATE testers and prober equipment Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime Perform equipment calibration and advanced diagnostics for complex failures Monitor key equipment performance indicators (downtime, MTBA, PM success rate, etc.) Maintain and sustain equipment recipes and configurations Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and environmental standards Equipment Installation & Upgrades Lead installation, setup, and qualification of new tester and prober equipment Plan and implement upgrades or modifications to improve equipment performance and efficiency Technical Support & Collaboration Provide technical support to production and operations teams to ensure smooth workflow Work closely with Process, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for spare parts, servicing, and technical support Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and modifications Prepare regular reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance activities Develop and standardize equipment operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance guidelines Safety & Compliance Adhere to and promote company health, safety, and environmental (EHS) policies Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., CE, SEMI S2/S8) and regulatory requirements Inventory Management Monitor and manage spare parts and tools inventory to ensure availability Identify cost-effective sourcing solutions for materials and components Continuous Improvement Drive improvements in equipment reliability, uptime, and performance using data analysis Support cost reduction through equipment optimization and enhancement Participate in training to stay updated on best practices and new technologies Support new equipment introduction and qualification Conduct system buy-off, analyze results, and identify improvement opportunities Manufacturing Value Added (MVA) Projects Plan and execute MVA projects within committed timelines Drive initiatives to reduce Die Free Package Cost (DFPC) What You Will Need Education Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field Certifications in Maintenance, Safety, or related areas are an advantage Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor industry with ATE (Automated Test Equipment) and prober handling Hands-on experience in wafer test environment Experience in test equipment engineering or similar role Project management and statistical data analysis skills Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is preferred Knowledge of machine safety standards (CE, SEMI S2/S8) is an advantage Technical Skills Strong knowledge of ATE testers, probers, and wafer test operations Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems Experience with PLCs, control systems, and automation is an advantage Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to work under pressure in a production environment Good communication and teamwork abilities Detail-oriented and proactive Fluent in English Talent acquisition based on Nexperia vacancies is not appreciated.
