Full Job Description

UniFirst Corporation, one of North America’s largest uniform rental and facility service companies, is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Tax Intern to join the Accounting team. The position is responsible for supporting the company’s Tax Department on various projects including but not limited to income tax compliance and analysis, sales and use tax compliance and analysis, property tax support, unclaimed property support, and audit support. Please note that this will be a hybrid position based at our corporate headquarters in Wilmington, MA. Responsibilities: Work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on delivering the highest quality service. Analyze, and respond to complex business opportunities and challenges. Perform tax-related tasks, including compliance, advising and planning for a $2.3B revenue publicly traded corporation. Assist the Company with state and local tax issues including compliance, advising, planning and controversies. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and provide updates to the team. Assist the team to create work paper files, prepare reports and deliverables and organize business activities. Participate in gathering and analyzing data through a variety of methods including interviews, research, etc. Leverage a range of technologies and analytics tools. Interacts and communicates with business process owners and upper-level management as needed during activities. Learn and apply tax department established policies, procedures, and work paper standards. Manage time effectively and efficiently to ensure assigned work is completed within established time frames. Education: Student currently enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Experience: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and strong technical aptitude Effective verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work on multiple tasks with a strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized The hourly pay rate for this position is $25.00 per hour.
