About the role Join our Manufacturing team in our Eastbourne Manufacturing Centre where you will be responsible for analysing and developing manufacturing processes within the warehouse. Alongside running and developing LEAN projects, ensuring manufacturing and engineering equipment are maintained to standard. To create and maintain Factory Instructions for our range of products and applicable processes To review Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) that relate to the manufacturing organisation. Collaborate with internal departments for product Introductions (NPI) to ensure new products are designed for manufacture and are smoothly transitioned from development into production. Provide support in Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Testing (DFT), and Design/Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (D/PFMEA) reviews Support the development and implementation of the overall manufacturing strategy, and the 5-year manufacturing strategy for the new manufacturing facility Provide decision making information by calculating production, labour, and material costs requirements. Including reparation of product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends Analyse and develop manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and eliminate waste to achieve cost-reductions, quality improvements, efficiency improvements and waste reduction Work with the Quality Engineers to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing facility Assist in the investigations into the product life cycle and resolution of customer returns whilst actively investigating issues, diagnosing defects, and establishing corrective actions to reduce and eliminate occurrences Act as a company resource on manufacturing best practice techniques and processes to the wider business Mentor junior members of staff and other team members to increase their knowledge and effectiveness. What are we looking for? Previous experience in a Technical Electronics or Mechanical Engineering, Production or relevant industry. Ability to diagnose manufacturing and design faults to component level, including NPI experience with electro‑mechanical products and application of DFM and D/PFMEA. Strong understanding of LEAN manufacturing and problem‑solving methodologies (e.g. 5S, Root Cause Analysis/8D, DMAIC, VSM), with awareness of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Confident communicator able to work independently and collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary teams across multi‑site locations.
