Position Summary An Employment Specialist works directly with NH Vocational Rehabilitation, Medicaid clients and students to provide comprehensive, person-centered support, assisting them to enter or re-enter the workforce. This includes helping clients identify career goals, assessing skills and interests, developing personalized employment plans and supporting them onsite once they have been placed or at work-based learning experiences. The Employment Specialist empowers clients to achieve meaningful, sustainable employment outcomes and career exploration. Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach are essential in ensuring success. In addition, the Employment Specialist also serves as a forward-facing professional to employers and community partners. The candidate must be comfortable engaging with high-level business leaders as a peer and consultant and must have the confidence to cold call businesses to create and develop new relationships. This role requires professional bearing, strategic networking, and collaboration with employers in every type of industry. Conducting employer outreach, identifying job opportunities, facilitating placements, and supporting client employment retention are ways in which the Employment Specialist interacts with business partners. Compensation: $20/hr  Responsibilities * Engage in career exploration activities such as interest inventories, job shadows and informational interviews and develop individualized employment plans. * Provide one-on-one and group support in job readiness areas such as resume writing, interview preparation, and application assistance. * Assist clients in understanding workplace expectations, disclosure considerations, and work incentive planning. * Track progress toward employment goals and maintain accurate documentation in electronic case management systems. * Support clients in identifying and addressing employment barriers through coaching and resource navigation. * Develop and maintain relationships with local employers of all types and sizes as well as workforce partners. * Identify job leads and match clients with appropriate employment opportunities. * Accompany clients to interviews and provide on-site job coaching as needed. * Work with other community-based programming to assist in client community activities as needed. * Act as a liaison between employers and clients to support job retention and resolve workplace challenges. * Monitor employment outcomes and provide follow-up support to ensure long-term success. * Work with student to explore careers and participate in work-based learning experiences. * Participate in team meetings, learning collaboratives, and professional development opportunities. * Contribute to the development of employment workflows, protocols, and training materials. * Maintain performance indicators and contribute to program reporting and compliance.  Duties and Expectations  * Maintain a caseload of individuals with a goal of employment.  * Client transportation around the service area is required as needed.  * Develop, grow and maintain relationships with businesses to ensure timely job placements. * Complete timely and accurate documentation of work with individuals. * Meet or exceed Key Performance Metrics.  Education and Experience * Associate or bachelor’s degree in vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, education, business, or a related field. * Minimum of one year experience in job development, vocational counseling, or employment services.
