Are you a seasoned federal acquisition professional who thrives on navigating complex procurements and driving mission impact? Join our team and play a critical role supporting the agency's Office of Acquisition Management-where your expertise will directly influence how essential services are delivered. As a Sr. Contracts Manager, you'll lead high-visibility acquisitions from strategy through closeout, partnering with program leaders and Contracting Officers to deliver compliant, efficient, and innovative contracting solutions. This is a 1 year project. The work is supporting a federal agency located in the Washington, DC area. The work location is onsite with hybrid work opportunities. This position is contingent upon contract award. What You'll Do As a Sr. Contract Manager, you will: Own the full procurement lifecycle – Lead cradle-to-grave acquisition activities for a diverse portfolio of professional, advisory, and administrative service contracts Drive strategic acquisitions – Develop acquisition plans, solicitation packages, and evaluation criteria that align with mission needs and regulatory requirements Execute complex contract vehicles – Manage IDIQs, BPAs, task/delivery orders, IAAs, and purchase orders with precision and efficiency Apply your regulatory expertise – Leverage deep knowledge of FAR Parts 12, 13, 14, 15, 37, 43, and Subpart 8.4 to guide compliant and effective procurement actions Lead post-award success – Oversee contract administration, including modifications, performance monitoring, and closeout activities Ensure data integrity and transparency – Maintain accurate reporting in systems such as FPDS and CPARS while supporting audit readiness Collaborate with stakeholders – Partner closely with CORs and Contracting Officers to shape acquisition strategies and contract type decisions Enhance quality and compliance – Review and refine acquisition documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to federal standards Be a subject matter expert – Provide guidance and mentorship to program teams on acquisition processes and best practices What You Bring Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or higher 8+ years of hands-on federal contracting experience across the acquisition lifecycle Expertise aligned with FAC-C Level III (certification preferred) Strong working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal procurement processes Experience with service-based contracting (FAR Part 37) and task order/IDIQ environments Proficiency across contract types (FFP, Labor Hour, T&M; familiarity with cost-type contracts a plus) Experience with contract writing systems (PRISM/ESC or similar) Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills with a customer-focused mindset Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools What Sets You Apart FAC-C Level III certification Experience with Inter/Intra-Agency Agreements (IAAs) Advanced knowledge of cost-type contracts A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to balance compliance and mission needs Why This Role This is more than a contracting role-it's an opportunity to influence mission outcomes, collaborate with high-performing teams, and bring strategic acquisition expertise to complex federal programs.
